Fun Friends! A Free Mini-Expansion (Promo cards at Gen Con, PDFs later)
over 1 year ago – Wed, Aug 03, 2022 at 11:51:13 PM

Hello pupper friends! We hope you all have been enjoying the game, and we're excited to announce that we've made a free mini-expansion called Fun Friends. It allows you to play Good Puppers solo, or with extra automated players in a non-solo game.

For example, you could invite Clever Cleo to play with you:

Fun friends play similar to normal players, and build up a Yard of pups just like you do. They don't have a hand, and their card tells you exactly what they do on their turn. They replace the tricks pups do with special abilities of their own, which can score them a lot of points if you're not careful!

Where can I get it?

We're at Gen Con this weekend (Booth #1619), and we'll be handing out copies of Fun Friends for free in our booth, the Galactic Game & Travel Nexus. Why is our booth a galactic travel agency? Because it's fun!

If you aren't at Gen Con, we'll be making PDFs of all our promo cards, including Fun Friends, available on our website after the convention. We'll post links here as an update when that happens.

Hope everyone is having a fun summer :)

It's hot out, and rules are coming hot off the presses!
over 2 years ago – Tue, Jun 29, 2021 at 09:23:56 PM

Hello pup friends! We have created a form to fill out for if you'd like a replacement rulebook.

Google Form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScyWO3ocKNjrDZkfJHz7KZENgMNHCTbNqX6KLVkIoftUP-nRw/viewform?usp=sf_link

On this form, you'll enter your name, email, number of copies, and address. It's super simple! There're two options:

1) Request a rulebook! We'll send you a rulebook, in the mail. We'll start sending those out probably late next week.

2) Opt out! Maybe you don't need a rulebook, the PDF's enough, or you've already understood the game and are fine. If you choose this option, we'll donate $1 to our local MSPCA branch as thanks for not needing to print+ship a rulebook.

The PDF is here: https://asmadigames.com/puppers/GoodPuppers_Rules.pdf

To be super clear, we don't mind sending out rules! We messed up, and this is how we fix it. But we figured it'd be fun to do something nice out of this somewhat-silly situation, and maybe some pups will get cool hats (pretty sure all donations go to the Cool Hats Fund for Pups, as it should be)

Thanks again to everyone for being patient with this outlandishly ridiculous set of circumstances, and we're looking forward to the full release of the game this summer, so that everyone can play with pups!

The Dog Ate My Rulebook
almost 3 years ago – Thu, May 13, 2021 at 04:10:48 PM

Many of you are receiving, or about to receive copies of Good Puppers! That is excellent, and a happy moment. Some of you have already received a copy of Good Puppers. That should be excellent, but has resulted in many of you actually opening the game to find a...misprinted rulebook. Somehow, a strange file-include error has caused every image in the rulebook of the card-back (with the bones on it) to be replaced with the card-front for card #00, the Loyal Lab. Don't get me wrong, he's a good pup. But he should not be in the rulebook 15 times. That is too many.

A PDF of the correct rulebook is here: https://asmadigames.com/puppers/GoodPuppers_Rules.pdf

The game itself is unaffected, and aside from the diagrams being weird, there's no obstacle to playing the game. All the text descriptions are right, and there's no issue on the cards (well, yet. At this rate, I'm expecting to learn next week that card #57 includes a giant shark or something that leaps out of the card and bites you). I just learned of this issue within the past hour, so I have no idea what our options are for fixing it. I'm sure for many folks, a PDF is fine, but I understand if you want a properly printed rulebook, and we will do our best to find a way to get one to you!

Shipping

We're about two thirds of the way through all of the shipping globally, hoping to have everything inside the US wrapped up within the next few days, and worldwide things as they arrive at hubs in the coming weeks.

Sorry again for all the delays and chaos, and to answer the question before it comes up, yup! The errors were definitely in the proofs we received, and several people looked at it and didn't notice the error somehow. I think we were focused on making sure the text was right! Blerg.

Time to send Puppers to YOU!
almost 3 years ago – Fri, Apr 30, 2021 at 10:46:22 PM

Puppers have arrived at our fulfillment warehouse, which means that soon, games will be on your tables. Games full of PUPPERS!

Supplies are arriving, and US fulfillment will be going on over the next 2 weeks. Our partners are a little jammed up with other things, but they're going to try and get the games out to you all as quickly as possible. US orders will be sent via USPS, and you should receive a tracking email when they're sent. Because of some quirks on the backend, your shipping confirmation email might list a canvas print as part of the package, even though those have already been sent. Databases, what a treat!

Shipments to the rest of the world could take a few more weeks to arrive, as we're shipping games to partners in Canada and the UK/Europe. Global shipping is...slow right now.

Lies, Dirty Lies, and Shipping Schedules
almost 3 years ago – Wed, Mar 31, 2021 at 04:34:49 PM

The only good lie is a pup, lying in the Spring mud, rolling around in defiance of its ten-minutes ago bath.

Unfortunately we are at the mercy of bad lies! The container containing puppers was unloaded at port in California on March 20. It is currently scheduled to arrive at our warehouse in Michigan on April 23.  You might wonder at this point: "Are these goods being carried by a dogsled?" And sadly the answer is no, the situation is not that adorable. Also, there's not nearly enough snow on the ground. For these two reasons, we wait.

(Actual explanation involves railcar shortages and bla bla who even cares)
